Het interfacultair college 'Lessen voor de 21ste eeuw' wil alle belangstellenden de mogelijkheid bieden na te denken over de grote vragen aan het begin van de 21ste eeuw. Vanuit verschillende wetenschappelijke disciplines wordt in 13 lessen toekomstgericht gereflecteerd over mens, maatschappij en wetenschap. Elk jaar komen andere thema's aan bod die vanuit diverse invalshoeken worden benaderd. Dit initiatief biedt een unieke gelegenheid om over de grenzen van de vakdisciplines heen de horizon te verruimen en het aspect algemene vorming aan de universiteit gestalte te geven. Specifiek en bijzonder motiverend is het feit dat studenten uit alle faculteiten deze interfacultaire lessencyclus als keuzevak - met het daarbij behorende examen - kunnen opnemen in hun individueel studieprogramma (ISP). Deze lessenreeks richt zich verder ook tot alle leden van de universitaire gemeenschap en andere belangstellenden om aldus bij te dragen tot de realisatie van het idee van de Universitas omnium scientiarum.
