Open Access Books – Readership Data

Leuven University Press partners with the following hosting platforms for Open Access books: OAPEN Library, JSTOR, Project Muse, and Open Research Library. We also make our Open Access books available through Google Books.

How we collect our books readership data

The table below presents the data collected from each platform.

The data we record is updated twice a year with the latest figures provided from these partners. We currently only record item requests by title (i.e., how many views and downloads a title has received). Download the recent spreadsheet here >
We are exploring the possibility to also record the available country data.

Geographical data for our open access titles from JSTOR, showing in which countries they have been downloaded, is available to download from this spreadsheet. This spreadsheet is updated twice a year.

On the OAPEN platform, you can find the metrics for each title at the bottom of its title page.

For every book sponsored by the KU Leuven Fund for Fair OA you can view the readership data here. The data is updated annually.

Statement on COUNTER compliance

The platforms we work with are COUNTER compliant. COUNTER is a community-led organisation that provides a global standard for measuring and reporting content usage through normalised metrics.
