In her new book Women and Work through a Comparative Lens, Nena Vandeweerdt compares women’s roles in the labor markets of Antwerp and Mechelen (Brabant) and Bilbao (Biscay). By studying these distinct contexts, the book offers a deeper understanding of gender and work in premodern Europe.

During this event, Nena Vandeweerdt will be in conversation with Dr. Shennan Hutton (UC Davis), followed by a Q&A with the audience. 

The book is published in the series Mediaevalia Lovaniensia, which will be introduced by Prof. Dr. Chanelle Delameillieure (KU Leuven).
