And Another Thing I Heard — Book Launch at STUK Leuven
16th September, 2026 in Latest news
The world is full of sound. But how often do we truly listen?
On Thursday 1 October, we warmly welcome you to STUK Leuven for the launch of And Another Thing I Heard, the new book by composer, artist, researcher and educator Esther Venrooij.
Moving between music, architecture, film, philosophy and everyday life, And Another Thing I Heard invites us to reconsider listening as an active, creative and critical way of engaging with the world. Sound is never simply something that surrounds us: it shapes how we experience spaces, bodies, memories and relationships.
During this special evening, Venrooij will present her new publication and reflect on the many modes and practices of listening that have informed her artistic and academic work. From the resonance of sacred spaces to the intimacy of a voice, from attentive listening as a form of care to the politics of surveillance, the book reveals listening as far more than a background activity.
Listening can be a way of meeting the world.
The publication brings together theoretical reflection and practical exercises, opening up different ways of listening for artists, architects, musicians, performers, educators, researchers and curious listeners alike.
Join us at STUK Leuven for an evening of listening, reflection and conversation around the launch of And Another Thing I Heard.
