LEUVEN, October 2024 – Leuven University Press welcomes Veerle De Laet back as director and thanks Nienke Roelants for her strong commitment as interim director.

After her tenure as executive director of AUC Press (American University in Cairo Press) in Egypt, Veerle De Laet rejoins  Leuven University Press. With fresh knowledge and new expertise, she looks forward to further developing the press as a leading international academic publisher, together with the solid team.

Leuven University Press extends its gratitude to Nienke Roelants, who has diligently served as interim director since February 2023. Under her leadership, she ensured continuity and further growth of the Open Access fund, and the press made significant steps in line with the EU Accessibility Act. We are grateful for her valuable contributions to the press and wish her every success in her further career.
