Leuven University Press and African Minds are pleased to announce a new fully open access book series, Contemporary African Studies in Commerce, Law and Management, developed in collaboration with the Wits Faculty of Commerce, Law and Management. This open access, peer-reviewed book series publishes thematic volumes on contemporary interdisciplinary topics in commerce, law and management, with an exclusive focus on the African continent. The series will be of interest to both African and non-African scholars seeking to understand the complex interplay between Africa’s developmental trajectory and global dynamics.

“The series creates a much-needed space for interdisciplinary engagement on the regulatory and governance challenges shaping Africa’s development,” says Caitlin Blaser Mapitsa, Associate Professor at the Wits School of Governance and series editor. “By bringing together scholars across disciplines, we hope to generate research that is both academically rigorous and directly relevant to policy and practice.”

The first title in the series is expected in Fall 2026.
