Contemporary African Studies in Commerce, Law and Management

This open access, peer-reviewed book series publishes thematic volumes on contemporary interdisciplinary topics in commerce, law and management, with an exclusive focus on the African continent. The series will be of interest to both African and non-African scholars seeking to understand the complex interplay between Africa’s developmental trajectory and global dynamics.

Africa’s development is increasingly shaped by the continent’s governance and regulatory context. Yet interdisciplinary collaboration among scholars in the more technical areas of African regulatory governance, such as tax, company law or public finance, remain limited, and the outcome of such research is rarely part of broader public debates. The resulting knowledge gaps weaken discussions around management, governance and progress across Africa.

By offering a venue for scholars to engage with relevant issues, this series fosters collaboration around commerce, law and management topics that demand integrated approaches and enriches both scholarly and public African debates. In doing so, it contributes to practice-based solutions for Africa’s most pressing challenges through engaged, impactful research.
